Senior Phone Plans and 55+ Discounts (2026)
Compare current 55+ wireless plans, prepaid alternatives, eligibility rules, fees and coverage considerations before switching carriers.
Updated September 28, 2026: Only some wireless carriers offer age-based plans nationwide. Compare a senior plan with ordinary prepaid and unlimited plans because the lowest total depends on line count, data use, coverage and device costs.
T-Mobile 55+ plans
T-Mobile offers age-based plans to new and existing customers age 55 or older and requires proof of age. Its current Experience More with 55+ Savings broadband label lists $75 for one line and $110 for two lines before AutoPay or other discounts, plus taxes and fees. Other 55+ tiers have different data and benefit levels.
Lower-cost prepaid option
Connect by T-Mobile currently advertises unlimited talk and text with 5GB of data for $15 per month. This is not an age-exclusive plan, but a lower-use customer may spend less with prepaid service than with a feature-rich senior unlimited plan.
What to compare
- Coverage at home, work and frequent travel locations
- Price for the exact number of lines
- Premium data, hotspot and international allowances
- Taxes, carrier fees, activation and device payments
- AutoPay requirements and price guarantees
- Accessibility and in-store support needs
Check the carrier's broadband label and eligibility terms immediately before switching. Start with the official T-Mobile 55+ plan page. Eligible low-income households can also review the FCC Lifeline program.
