It was announced in November 2021 that Viasat would acquire Inmarsat, a provider of satellite communications services, for approximately $7.3 billion.

Viasat Communications Impact

Viasat’s impact in providing fast, secure communications and high-speed satellite internet access is present in multiple layers of infrastructure. The new ViaSat-3 global satellite constellation will cover nearly the entire globe with broadband access. The first of these three satellites is expected to launch in the first half of 2022.
