CenturyLink is primarily recognized as a DSL provider in approximately 36 states, although it does offer limited fiber service in some areas. Lumen Technologies, CenturyLink's parent company, has acquired several other companies, including Akamai Technologies, Embarq, Level 3 Communications, and Brightspeed. Additionally, AT&T owns Verizon Wireless in 18 states.
