By now, you might be aware that some local NBC affiliate stations are experiencing a blackout on DirecTV due to a carriage dispute between DirecTV and the broadcast company Tegna. Tegna owns 64 television stations across 51 markets in the U.S., including several local NBC affiliates.

As a workaround, you can download the NBC app from the App Store or Google Play. When prompted to indicate whether you have a TV provider, select 'Yes,' and then choose DirecTV. Log in to the app using your DirecTV user ID and password. This method also works on your mobile device, allowing you to cast content to a smart TV or monitor, provided your computer has an online connection. Additionally, you can search for your local NBC affiliate station's app (most have a news app) and download it to your connected device.
