Dish Network has announced a $5 price hike for all of its plans, set to go into effect on October 12, 2023. Like many other companies, Dish Network attributes the increase to the rising costs of programming. Expect similar statements from other TV and video streaming services in the near future.

Customers with the Price Lock or Preferred Customer offer will remain unaffected until their promotional period concludes.

Alongside this, the company is also making adjustments to its late payment fees. The fee will increase from the current $2, which is a minor inconvenience, to a more substantial $12. However, this change won't apply to residents of Arizona, Maine, and Virginia.

Content creators like AppleTV, Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Paramount, and others recognize that all you need is an internet connection and a device to become a direct subscriber to their platform. They are showcasing their best content on their respective apps. Each platform requires a separate subscription, which is an added expense on top of TV streaming and internet bills. Will there be growing resistance from customers against paying multiple bills for content? This is a reason why TV streaming services are hesitant to increase prices. When they do, there's an expectation to offer more value in tandem with the price hike.

Dish Network customers will see another $60 plus tax (where applicable) per year as a result of the increase. Here are the new prices for each package.
