Vyve Broadband

Vyve Broadband is a cable internet provider that offers high-speed internet, digital TV, and home phone service in hundreds of locations around 17 states including California, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Fixed wired high speed internet, or fixed broadband, is a high-speed data transmission to a fixed location, such as a residence or business. It's always on and can employ different technologies, such as coaxial cables (cable modem), DSL (phone lines), fiber optics, and power lines.

Fixed wired internet differs from fixed wireless internet in that it requires a wired line to be installed whereas fixed wireless doesn't require either a phone line or a cable line. Broadband connections transmit electrical signals from end to end. In most wired networks, an internet connection uses a cable modem or a T1 line.

A sampling of Vyve Broadband Internet packages includes the following. The maximum speeds are based on wired connections and are subject to data plans and usage restrictions:

  • 105 Mbps: Download speeds up to 105 Mbps for $29.99/mo.
  • 200 Mbps: Download speeds up to 200 Mbps for $44.99/mo.
  • 500 Mbps: Download speeds up to 500 Mbps for $64.99/mo.
  • Gig Service: Download speeds range from 870-930 Mbps. For $79.99/mo.
  • Importantly, Vyve plans do not include unlimited data. If you want that option then you will pay another $24.99/mo. on top of the quoted plan amount.

There are no long-term contracts required for residential internet but after the first year your monthly bill increases by $10 for most plans, and by $20 for the Gig plan. In that regard the plan pricing quotes are promotional for the first year of service. Incentive pricing can run the gamut regardless of which type of internet service you are looking at; and while some providers are transparent in that they have no incentive pricing, others offer strong incentives like lower pricing, bundled deals, and even gift cards, to get you on board. Be sure to read the fine print so you know how to budget.

The Gateway modem/router lease fee is $13.99/mo. You can opt to add an Eero Pro 6 Wi-Fi system for another $9.99/mo. You can inquire about bringing your own modem to the setup but be sure to check for compatibility requirements before you buy. There are pros and cons to both options. If you lease the equipment the company must maintain and troubleshoot it. If you bring your own, you’ll be doing those tasks.

Vyve uses hybrid fiber-coaxial, fixed wireless, or fiber-to-the-home technology. Vyve Broadband uses DOCSIS technology to exchange internet data with customers. Vyve recommends using at least a DOCSIS 3.0 certified modem to be compliant. The Gateway modem provided by the company is designed to fit this requirement. Additionally, you can opt for the eero TrueMesh Wi-Fi setup to transmit your internet signal throughout your home and connect all your devices. The technology is designed to deliver the best performance based on a home’s layout, connected devices, and overall network usage.

Vyve also offers HDTV with over 200 channels available and DVR, and Voice IP, including local and long distance. Reach out directly to Vyve for details about plans at your location.

Vyve also offers internet, phone, TV and fiber solutions for small, medium and enterprise businesses as well as for other carriers themselves.

Vyve Internet was acquired by Mega Broadband Investments (MBI) in November 2019 and the next year MBI aligned rural broadband providers Eagle Broadband, Vyve Broadband, and Northland Communications, under the Vyve Broadband name.
