How to Watch The Diplomat Season 4: Netflix Release Date, Time and Cast
The Diplomat Season 4 arrives on Netflix on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Netflix originals usually go live at 12 a.m. PT, which is 3 a.m. ET, so you can start the season early Thursday morning.
Keri Russell is back as Ambassador Kate Wyler, with Rufus Sewell as her husband, now Vice President Hal Wyler. The series is a Netflix original, so it isn't on a DIRECTV channel. You watch it in the Netflix app, which works on DIRECTV Gemini devices, smart TVs and streaming sticks.
What Season 4 is about
Netflix's official description says two marriages threaten to eat each other alive. One catastrophic moment shatters the fragile peace Kate brokered between the U.S. and the U.K., along with the marriage she's trying to save. At the same time, President Grace Penn and Vice President Hal Wyler's plan to steal Russia's most powerful weapon could push the United States toward war, so Kate and First Gentleman Todd Penn team up to stop them.
Season 3 ended with Grace Penn as the new president after President Rayburn's death, and with Kate starting to suspect her husband and the president had double-crossed her. If you need a refresher, all three earlier seasons are streaming on Netflix now.
