AmericanTV’s role

AmericanTV is a research and comparison website. We do not directly provide phone, television, or internet service. Providers, advertisers, referral partners, analytics services, and websites linked from AmericanTV have their own privacy practices and policies.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact AmericanTV, request information, call a displayed telephone number, or otherwise communicate with us or a participating service provider, information may include your name, contact details, location, service interests, and anything else you choose to share. Do not send sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.

Technical and usage information

Like most websites, our hosting and security systems may receive technical information when your browser requests a page. This can include an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, date and time, general location derived from an IP address, and diagnostic or security events.

We use this information to deliver pages, maintain security, diagnose errors, understand aggregate traffic, and improve site navigation and content.

Cookies, analytics, and browser storage

AmericanTV may use first-party cookies or similar browser storage for essential functions, preferences, traffic measurement, fraud prevention, and security. Analytics or advertising partners may use their own technologies when their services are present. You can limit cookies through your browser, although some site features may not work as expected.

Interactive tools

The streaming TV speed planner performs its estimate in your browser. The selections you make in that planner are not submitted to or stored in the AmericanTV database by the calculator. Other diagnostic tools, including speed tests, may communicate with a server to perform a requested test; review the notice displayed with each tool for details.

Advertising, referrals, and provider contacts

AmericanTV may be supported by advertising, referral, or affiliate relationships. We may receive compensation when a visitor follows a provider link, calls a displayed number, requests availability information, or completes another qualifying action. Compensation does not transfer ownership of third-party trademarks to AmericanTV and does not guarantee that an offer is available at your address.

When information may be shared

Information may be shared with vendors that support hosting, security, analytics, communications, or site operations; with a provider or referral partner when you ask to connect with that service; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or as part of a business reorganization or transfer. Each recipient may process information under its own policy.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, site security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and recordkeeping. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no website, network, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your privacy choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or limit certain uses. You may also manage cookies through your browser and unsubscribe using instructions included in a communication.

To submit a privacy request, use the AmericanTV contact page. We may need to verify a request before acting on it. If information was submitted directly to a provider or another third party, contact that organization about its records.

Children’s privacy

AmericanTV is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal information may contact us to request review and deletion.

External websites

AmericanTV pages may link to providers, streaming services, advertisers, government resources, and other external websites. We do not control their content, security, or privacy practices. Review the policy of the destination before providing information.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as site features, partners, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the current published version.
