How to Watch The Greatest Muhammad Ali Series on Prime Video
The Greatest premieres Wednesday, November 4, 2026, on Prime Video, and all eight episodes are available that day. It is the first authorized scripted series about the life of Muhammad Ali, and his widow, Lonnie Ali, is an executive producer. Newcomer Jaalen Best stars as Cassius Clay, the young fighter from Louisville who becomes Muhammad Ali.
The Greatest streams only on Prime Video, so it isn't on a DIRECTV channel. You can watch it in the Prime Video app on a DIRECTV Gemini device, a smart TV or a streaming stick.
What The Greatest is about
The series traces Ali's coming of age as young Cassius Clay, following the personal, professional and political battles he fought inside and outside the ring. Set against a changing America, it covers the fights that made him a champion and the convictions that made him an icon. Prime Video's tagline puts it simply: the world remembers Ali the icon, and the series reveals the man.
Ben Watkins (Cross) created the series and is showrunner. Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society, Roc Nation and Authentic Studios are among the producers.
