| Where you live | How to watch | DIRECTV notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dallas Stars territory | Prime Video | Prime Video is sold separately; open the Prime Video app on a DIRECTV Gemini device |
| Chicago Blackhawks territory | Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) | CHOICE or higher, where DIRECTV carries CHSN in your ZIP; search CHSN or Chicago Sports Network in the guide |

Chicago’s regional sports network historically sat in the same DIRECTV slot once used by NBC Sports Chicago (channel 665). Lineups can shift by ZIP and package, so search CHSN or Chicago Sports Network in your on-screen guide rather than relying only on a number. Regional sports networks aren’t part of ENTERTAINMENT, so CHOICE is the usual starting point inside Chicago territory. Compare tiers in our DIRECTV package channel comparison, or call 1-855-690-9884 and we’ll confirm what your ZIP code gets.
How Dallas Stars fans watch on Prime Video
For 2026-27, Dallas Stars local games air on Prime Video, not on a classic regional sports network inside your DIRECTV channel list. That means a Prime membership (or another Amazon plan that includes Prime Video) is required in addition to DIRECTV.
- DIRECTV Gemini: press APPS on the Gemini Voice remote, open or install Prime Video from Google Play, sign in with your Amazon account, and search for the Stars-Blackhawks game on October 17.
- Other devices: the same Prime Video login works on phones, tablets, smart TVs and streaming sticks.
- Pause or manage Prime: see how to pause a Prime Video subscription if you only need the app for certain windows.
More Gemini setup detail is in our DIRECTV Gemini device guide.
How Chicago fans watch on CHSN
- DIRECTV channel guide: search Chicago Sports Network or CHSN. In-market CHOICE (and higher) packages typically include regional sports networks where DIRECTV carries them.
- DIRECTV app: if CHSN is in your package and you’re in-market, watch the channel live in the DIRECTV app with your login.
- MySports Genre Pack: some households add sports via packages like the MySports Genre Pack; availability of a specific RSN still depends on ZIP.

How to watch Stars vs. Blackhawks out of market
Outside both teams’ home territories, NHL Center Ice on DIRECTV satellite is the usual out-of-market path when the game is offered and not blacked out. Center Ice does not replace in-market rights: Chicago ZIP codes that get CHSN, and Dallas fans expected to use Prime Video, follow those local windows instead. We are not listing a Center Ice price here — check your DIRECTV account or order screen for the current offer.
