Netflix hasn’t posted an exact unlock time. New Netflix films usually appear around 12 a.m. Pacific (3 a.m. Eastern), so East Coast viewers can likely press play early Friday morning. Add Sacrifice to My List in the Netflix app now and it will show up on your home screen when it goes live.
What is Sacrifice about?
Chris Evans plays Mike Tyler, a fading action-movie star trying to revive his image at an over-the-top charity gala on a Greek island. When a doomsday cult crashes the party and takes the guests hostage, the night turns into a darkly funny fight for survival, with Anya Taylor-Joy as the mysterious Joan at the center of the cult’s plans. Expect satire of celebrity culture mixed with big action set pieces, in the style Romain Gavras brought to his earlier films Athena and The World Is Yours.
Who is in the cast of Sacrifice?
The ensemble includes Chris Evans as Mike Tyler and Anya Taylor-Joy as Joan, with Vincent Cassel, Salma Hayek-Pinault and John Malkovich in key roles. Pop star Charli XCX and Swedish rapper Yung Lean also appear, along with Ambika Mod and Sam Richardson. Sacrifice is rated R, so it’s one to save for adults rather than family movie night.
