What channel is Hurricanes vs. Jets on DIRECTV?
Which option you use depends on where you live. This is an NHL Power Play / ESPN+ national streaming window plus Carolina regional feeds and Sportsnet in Canada — not a single ESPN, TNT or NHL Network national cable night.
| Where you live | How to watch | DIRECTV notes |
|---|---|---|
| Carolina Hurricanes territory | Hurricanes Hockey Network / CARNHL when carried | As of mid-October 2026 reporting, DIRECTV customers are reportedly unable to get HHN in-market amid an ongoing carriage dispute. Alternate local options reported elsewhere include Spectrum, Fubo, Prime Video and Comporium where offered. Confirm what your ZIP actually receives. |
| Out of market in the U.S. | NHL Power Play / ESPN+; or NHL Center Ice where offered | ESPN+ is a separate subscription (open from Gemini APPS). Center Ice is satellite channels ~770–787 when available and not blacked out |
| Canada | Sportsnet East / Ontario / West | Separate from U.S. DIRECTV packages |

Season-long NHL package and channel notes are in our NHL on DIRECTV hub and 2026-27 NHL season on DIRECTV. NHL Network itself (channel 215) is covered in what channel NHL Network is on DIRECTV for other national windows this week.
Reported DIRECTV dispute over Hurricanes Hockey Network
As of October 16, 2026 reporting, DIRECTV customers are reportedly unable to receive Hurricanes Hockey Network (HHN) — and similarly reported gaps have been noted for Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey Network, Wild+ and Blue Note+ in their markets. Team and local reporting describe an ongoing carriage situation rather than a settled national package change. Do not treat this as a claim about specific contract terms; check your account and ZIP before puck drop.
Carolina in-market fans who cannot find HHN on DIRECTV may need an alternate path for this window (Spectrum, Fubo, Prime Video or Comporium where those services are offered locally, per team messaging) or out-of-market streaming only if you are not blacked out. Out-of-market U.S. viewers should start with NHL Power Play / ESPN+.
