What is Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story about?
Freelance reporter Avery Clark (Lyndsy Fonseca) comes home to Chicago for Christmas with her mom, Jody (Barbara Alyn Woods), and new stepdad, Ron (Khary Payton), and picks up a feel-good assignment: a profile of Darlene Donnelly (Marsha Mason), a Bears superfan about to attend her 500th game. Avery knows almost nothing about football, so Darlene nudges her grandson Matt (Robert Buckley), a Chicago firefighter and lifelong Bears fan, into showing Avery what game day in Chicago is all about. Between tailgate traditions, holiday outings around the city and Darlene’s own stadium love story, Avery starts to fall for Matt and for the idea of staying put.
Bears fans will spot plenty of familiar faces. Head coach Ben Johnson, tight ends Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet, team legends Mike Singletary, Charles “Peanut” Tillman and Dan Hampton, and mascot Staley Da Bear all make cameo appearances. Hallmark regulars Tamera Mowry-Housley and Marilu Henner also appear, along with Chicago-area actors Jake Connelly and Dyon “Mojo” Brooks.
