Starting October 2, 2026, DIRECTV is offering two lighter ways to stream: Genre Packs, smaller plans built around one interest, and Signature Streaming without a DIRECTV device, which runs on a compatible streaming device you already own. Both sit alongside Signature Streaming with the DIRECTV device, which is still DIRECTV's most complete option.

What are DIRECTV Genre Packs?
Genre Packs are streaming plans that group channels by what you actually watch: sports, kids, entertainment, news or Spanish-language TV. Instead of paying for a big lineup, you pick the pack that matches your interest. Several include a streaming app, such as ESPN Unlimited, Disney+ or ViX Premium with Ads. Some include local channels, and two "Duo" packs combine popular interests in one plan.
