What's My Old iPhone Worth at AT&T Now? iPhone 14 and 17e Trade-In Tiers

Short answer: AT&T doesn't publish a fixed trade-in price for an iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro or 17e. Your phone's worth is set by AT&T's trade-in estimator and condition check. What AT&T does publish is which credit tier your phone unlocks, and that changes this week. Through Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, any iPhone 14 or newer (except the 16e), in any condition, unlocks up to $1,200 off an iPhone 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max on Premium 2.0 or Elite 2.0. Under AT&T's updated offer terms taking effect Oct. 10, the any-condition rule ends, the $1,200 tier needs a phone worth $230 or more, and these four phones move to the middle tier. That tier is up to $930 on most plans and up to $500 on Value 2.0.

Quick answer

  • Through Oct. 8 (as of Oct. 7, 2026): iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro or 17e in any condition = up to $1,200 off an iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max on Premium 2.0 or Elite 2.0, up to $930 on Extra 2.0 or Starter, up to $500 on Value 2.0.
  • From Oct. 10 (per AT&T offer details): the phone's value after inspection decides the tier. These four phones sit in the $130–$229.99 middle tier, which means up to $930 or $500 depending on plan. A phone worth less than $130 drops to the $350 tier.
  • Buying an iPhone 17 instead? A mid-tier phone still unlocks up to $930 on Extra, Premium or Elite 2.0 after Oct. 10, if it's worth $130 or more after inspection.
  • Cracked or damaged? Trade it by Oct. 8 if you can. After that, damage counts against it.

What you'd actually pay each month

Here's our math using AT&T's Oct. 7 prices: the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB is $1,199.99 ($33.34/mo over 36 months) and the iPhone 17 is $929.99 ($25.84/mo). Bill credits are AT&T's published monthly amounts: $33.34 for $1,200, $25.84 for $930, $13.89 for $500 and $9.73 for $350. Totals are before taxes and the $35 activation or upgrade fee.

Up to $930$7.50$0.00
Up to $500$19.45$11.95
Up to $350$23.61$16.11

For an iPhone 14 owner on Premium 2.0 buying an iPhone 18 Pro, the difference between the top tier and the middle tier is $7.50 a month, or $270 over 36 months. For an iPhone 14 owner buying an iPhone 17 on Extra 2.0 or higher, the change matters less: the phone is still covered as long as it's worth $130 or more after inspection.

How to find your phone's actual value

  1. Run AT&T's trade-in estimator. Do it in your AT&T account or on AT&T's trade-in site, and answer the condition questions honestly. AT&T sets the final value after inspecting the phone.
  2. Pick your plan with the tier in mind. On AT&T's plans page (as of Oct. 7, 2026), Extra 2.0 and Value 2.0 both carry a note that they may reduce your estimated trade-in value.
  3. Pay off the old phone first. AT&T says the trade-in device can't be on an existing installment plan.
  4. Back up and reset. Back up your photos and messages (here's how to back up text messages on iPhone), turn off Find My, then erase the phone.
  5. Send it within 30 days. Trade-in credits start within three bills and catch up once they begin. If you cancel service, the credits stop.

If you're upgrading early with Next Up Anytime

Per AT&T offer details, from Oct. 10 the same tier thresholds apply to Next Up Anytime upgrades, based on what the phone you turn in is worth. That makes the $230 line matter for annual upgraders too. We cover the $10/mo math in whether AT&T Next Up Anytime is still worth it.

How this compares

Carrier trade-in deals pay out as bill credits that tie you to a plan for 36 months. Apple's own trade-in program pays out a set amount instead. If you're shopping around, see how Verizon's iPhone 17 Pro trade-in deal works.

Frequently asked questions

How much is my iPhone 14 worth at AT&T?

AT&T doesn't post a fixed price. Your value comes from AT&T's trade-in estimator and an inspection. Through Oct. 8, 2026, an iPhone 14 in any condition unlocks up to $1,200 off an iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max on Premium 2.0 or Elite 2.0. From Oct. 10, per AT&T offer details, it sits in the $130–$229.99 middle tier.

What trade-in tier is the iPhone 17e in?

Through Oct. 8 it's covered by the any-condition iPhone 14-or-newer rule. From Oct. 10, per AT&T offer details, it moves to the $130–$229.99 middle tier with the iPhone 14, 14 Plus and 14 Pro.

Do I get less on Value 2.0?

A phone worth $35 to $129.99 after inspection qualifies for the up-to-$350 tier on eligible unlimited plans. Below $35, it doesn't qualify for these Apple offers.
