Screambox on DIRECTV: Price, Channel and How to Add It
Horror fans have a new add-on to try on DIRECTV. Screambox, the horror streaming service from the team behind Bloody Disgusting, is now a premium on-demand add-on for $6.99 a month. It brings more than 1,000 horror titles into your DIRECTV lineup, and once you add it you'll find it on channel 1973.

What is Screambox?
Screambox is a subscription service built entirely around horror. It's run by the people behind Bloody Disgusting, one of the best-known horror news sites, and its library covers just about every corner of the genre: slashers, haunted houses, psychological horror, found footage, international films, cult favorites and originals made for the service.
On its own, Screambox sells through its app on streaming devices, phones and the web. The DIRECTV version puts that on-demand library inside your DIRECTV lineup and on your DIRECTV bill, so you don't need a separate account or app to browse it.

How to add Screambox to DIRECTV
- Go to directv.com and sign in.
- From Account Overview, open My TV package.
- Scroll down to the add-ons and look for Screambox.
- Choose Explore, select the Screambox option and finish the steps on screen.
- Go to channel 1973 to start browsing.

What's on Screambox?
For its launch, DIRECTV is spotlighting titles such as Return to Silent Hill, the anthology series Bloody Bites, the backwoods slasher Deathwoods and the possession story Yellow Eyes.
Screambox is also adding new titles through October. Its Halloween-month slate includes:
- Creature of the Pines (Oct. 13): a Screambox-exclusive found-footage film about a documentary crew investigating disappearances in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.
- Your Dearest Darkest Friend (Oct. 30): an original talk show hosted by Ted Raimi, who welcomes guests to a haunted manor with help from a cast of puppets.
- Weekly library additions: including Calvaire, The Hills Have Eyes II (1984) and Goblin on Oct. 2, Luz and Spontaneous Combustion on Oct. 9, Saturnalia on Oct. 16, Sator and Bloodbath at the House of Death on Oct. 23, and Falcon Lake and The Devonsville Terror on Oct. 30.
That October schedule is for the Screambox service. Titles in DIRECTV's version can differ and may arrive on a different timetable, so check channel 1973 for what's available.
