NHL Power Play on ESPN, Explained for DIRECTV Customers
NHL Power Play is ESPN's out-of-market NHL package in the ESPN app, with more than 1,050 games in 2026-27. Many games let you choose the home or away team's broadcast, and replays of every game on ABC, ESPN, NHL Network and TNT are added too. If your DIRECTV package includes ESPN (channel 206), DIRECTV offers ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost to eligible customers, which unlocks streaming in the ESPN app.

What Power Play doesn't include
Games involving your local team are blacked out in your home market, where the team's regional network or local station carries them. National games on TNT stream live on HBO Max, not Power Play, though replays come later. Our NHL blackouts guide covers the rules.
