What is Under Siege about?
On November 6, 1985, an M-19 guerrilla commando forced its way into Colombia's Palace of Justice and took more than 300 people hostage, including Supreme Court justices. The next day, the Colombian Army retook the building. At least 94 people died or disappeared, including justices, guerrilla members, civilians and members of the military.
Netflix describes Under Siege as a fictional series inspired by those real and publicly known events. It recounts the siege and the retaking of the Palace, then follows the victims' families through more than 20 years of searching for justice. Netflix says the story was shaped by more than seven years of research using documents, testimonies and interviews.
The production built a set of more than 4,000 square meters in Bogotá over three months, plus a 30-meter structure that recreates the Palace's original façade.

Natalia Reyes plays Pilar Navarrete, Carlos Manuel Vesga plays retired Colonel Alfonso Plazas Vega and Robinson Díaz plays President Belisario Betancur. Luna Baxter plays journalist Olga Behar, Santiago Alarcón plays Supreme Court president Alfonso Reyes Echandía and Nicole Santamaría plays prosecutor Ángela María Buitrago. Mariana Gómez, Andrés Castañeda and Camilo Amores round out the main cast.
