By American TV editorial team |
Red Snow starts streaming on Shudder on Friday, December 11, 2026. The Finnish Christmas horror comedy is a Shudder Original and lands in the middle of Shudder's December holiday horror lineup, two weeks before Christmas.
See the Shudder Christmas horror guide and Joe Bob Conquers Christmas for more holiday viewing.
Ilja Rautsi wrote and directed the 2026 film, whose Finnish title is Punaista lunta. Producer Bufo lists Finland, Estonia and Sweden as its production countries and confirms a September 2026 Fantastic Fest premiere.

What is Red Snow about?
Teenager Johanna imagines meeting a romantic vampire. Instead she encounters Martti, a middle-aged bloodsucker who uses a Santa costume to enter homes on Christmas Eve.
The encounter becomes a violent holiday nightmare rather than the romance she expected. Bufo’s cast list includes Hannu-Pekka Björkman, Anni Iikkanen, Krista Kosonen, Tommi Korpela and Jussi Vatanen.
How to watch with DIRECTV
A subscription to the linear AMC television channel does not itself establish access to Shudder’s streaming catalog. Confirm that the title is included in the specific streaming plan and region you use.
Red Snow streams on Shudder rather than on a TV channel, so you'll need a Shudder subscription or an AMC+ plan that includes Shudder. Watch in the Shudder or AMC+ app on a smart TV, streaming device, phone or tablet.
Shudder is owned by AMC Global Media, and AMC is channel 254 on DIRECTV. If you stream, see how to watch AMC without cable. For more holiday scares, try our list of horror movies to get you into the Christmas spirit. Questions about your TV package? Call American TV at 1-855-690-9884.
