Is Hurricanes vs. Islanders on DIRECTV?
ESPN lists this as a streaming-exclusive game, rather than an ESPN or ESPN2 cable-channel broadcast. Eligible DIRECTV accounts may include ESPN Unlimited; check your account before paying for a second subscription. DIRECTV also carries select ESPN Unlimited events through special guide entries, but we have not verified a special channel assignment for this matchup.
How to stream it
Find the game in the ESPN app using an eligible ESPN subscription, or check the listed Disney+ and Hulu routes for the required access. If ESPN Unlimited is included through DIRECTV, activate it from My TV Package and sign into the ESPN app with the ESPN account created during activation. A normal DIRECTV provider login alone does not unlock ESPN Unlimited exclusives. Use a compatible device and check access before puck drop.
What about Hurricanes Hockey Network on DIRECTV?
Since October 24, 2026, Hurricanes Hockey Network is on DIRECTV channel 650 (satellite and streaming) for customers in the Hurricanes' home territory with CHOICE or higher, and on 1726/726 for U-verse U200 and higher. That's where most local Canes games air, but this one is a national streaming exclusive, so don't expect it on 650.
Check the game tile before puck drop
National exclusives can differ from a team’s ordinary local schedule. If the game tile asks you to subscribe, confirm your existing account benefits and activation before purchasing. Listings and app availability can change.
