How to watch Bruins vs. Hurricanes on DIRECTV
Tune to ESPN on channel 206. ESPN is included in every DIRECTV Signature package, and the MySports Genre Pack, DIRECTV’s sports-focused streaming plan, carries it too. Our guide to what channel ESPN is on DIRECTV covers the HD channel and packages, and the MySports Genre Pack guide explains that option.
The NHL’s national schedule lists ESPN as the U.S. national broadcaster for this game. That typically means NESN and Carolina’s local feeds will not show the national window. Carolina’s team network, Hurricanes Hockey Network, joined DIRECTV on October 24, 2026, on channel 650 (U-verse 1726/726) for CHOICE and higher customers in the Hurricanes’ home territory, under a new DIRECTV-NHL agreement. It carries the Hurricanes’ local games, such as Columbus at Carolina on Thursday, October 29, but not this ESPN game. For the rest of Boston’s early ESPN slate, see our earlier guide to Bruins vs. Stars on DIRECTV (Oct. 20, also ESPN 206).

Bruins and Hurricanes so far
Per NHL standings as of October 25, 2026, the Bruins are 9-2-1 (19 points) and the Hurricanes are 9-2-2 (20 points). Carolina is off to one of the East’s stronger starts after raising its championship banner on Opening Night. Boston sits near the top of the Atlantic after an early surge. Both clubs could play again before October 27, so records may change by puck drop.
Before this meeting, Boston’s ESPN national window includes the Oct. 20 visit to Dallas. Carolina hosts a national spotlight against a Boston club still building its 2026-27 identity on the road.
