What is Blue Planet III about?
Blue Planet III is the third installment of the landmark ocean franchise that began a quarter century ago. The series takes viewers into some of the least understood marine places on Earth, from coral reefs and tropical islands to the darkest depths of the ocean, with stories of adaptation, resilience, hope and recovery.
BBC America says the crews used a new generation of camera gear, including splash drones, long-term remote underwater cameras and a "mini dome," to capture animal behavior that was previously impossible to film or only recently discovered.
Who made it?
BBC Studios Natural History Unit made the series for BBC One and iPlayer, co-produced with BBC America, ZDF and France Télévisions in association with Skai Greece. Elizabeth White is executive producer, and Lara Bickerton and James Brickell are series producers. The extended trailer, released October 6, features "Into The Deep (Seas Cry)," a new song written by JADE, Hans Zimmer and Thom Lukas.
