DIRECTV Election HQ Returns for the 2026 Midterms: How to Watch
By American TV editorial team |
DIRECTV plans to offer Election HQ November 2–4, 2026, for coverage of the November 3 midterm elections. The experience combines Associated Press results with a four-channel view of CNN, FOX News, MS NOW and Newsmax TV.
For individual networks, see our CNN, FOX News and MS NOW channel guides. Our Election Night guide covers other viewing options.
How to open Election HQ
Satellite customers using a supported Gemini or Genie can tune to channel 71 or 200, use the Home or guide banner, or follow a red-button prompt on participating news channels. Streaming customers using Gemini or Gemini Air should look for the Home or guide banner once it launches.
Device limits matter
DIRECTV says Election HQ is not available in its app on other streaming devices, smart TVs, phones, tablets or web browsers. The planned window may be extended if needed. Check your supported DIRECTV device rather than assuming that a channel shortcut works the same way in every app.
Prepare before election night
Check your equipment and remote, locate your preferred news channels, and confirm your current lineup. If you want to compare full-screen coverage, save those channels as favorites before results start arriving. Follow current reporting for developing results and later corrections.
Compare DIRECTV viewing options or call 1-855-690-9884 for package and equipment questions.
