YouTube vs. Netflix Creator Shows: Where to Watch and What They Cost
By AmericanTV.com editorial team |
Creator shows and video podcasts now appear alongside Netflix’s films and television series. That does not mean every creator has left YouTube, or that a Netflix subscription includes every video from a creator’s channel. Check the particular show, episode and territory before deciding which subscription you need.
This guide separates verified Netflix programming from subscription features. YouTube Premium changes the experience of watching eligible YouTube content; it does not buy Netflix access. YouTube TV is a separate live-TV service.
Creator shows Netflix has confirmed
Netflix’s own announcements confirm Ms. Rachel and Danny Go! on the service. Ms. Rachel’s Netflix release uses curated compilations of her educational videos. Danny Go!’s Netflix debut began April 6, 2026, with five episodes built around songs, movement and interactive adventures.
Netflix’s Danny Go! announcement also identifies collaborations with Mark Rober, Salish and Jordan Matter, and Alan Chikin Chow. These are separate projects with their own releases. Search for the exact title inside your U.S. Netflix account to check the episodes currently available to your plan.
A creator’s Netflix deal should not be read as a guarantee that the same full episode is available on YouTube that day. This guide does not label every creator “still on YouTube” without a current channel-by-channel check. Nor does it list Hot Ones as a confirmed U.S. Netflix show.
Video podcasts: the agreement matters
- Spotify and The Ringer: Netflix’s announcement includes video versions of The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, The Ringer’s NFL and NBA shows, and other selected podcasts. It describes availability on Netflix and Spotify, rather than a blanket Netflix-only rule.
- Barstool Sports: Netflix announced exclusive video episodes of Pardon My Take, The Ryen Russillo Podcast and Spittin’ Chiclets. Audio versions remain available through the usual podcast services.
- iHeartMedia: its agreement covers more than 15 video podcasts, including My Favorite Murder, The Breakfast Club, Dear Chelsea and The Psychology of Your 20s. Its announcement distinguishes the Netflix video arrangement from audio distribution.
Netflix’s current sports-podcast guide confirms the January 2026 rollout, including The Bill Simmons Podcast’s January 11 live debut. Search for a specific podcast and episode rather than assuming a deal includes every archived recording or every country.

Netflix prices above come from its U.S. Help Center. YouTube Premium prices were checked on its U.S. membership page in normal Chrome on November 3. Taxes, eligibility, billing route, bundles and promotions can affect what you pay. Confirm the final offer before subscribing; no free trial is guaranteed here.
Where Premium Lite fits
YouTube’s current Premium Lite page describes ad-free viewing on most eligible non-music videos, with downloads and background play for eligible content. Music content and Shorts can still carry ads, as can search and browsing. Lite does not include the full YouTube Music Premium benefit. Check the current price and eligibility shown for your account; this guide does not treat an older advertised Lite price as a verified current checkout offer.
Netflix and YouTube on Gemini
DIRECTV’s support lists Netflix and YouTube as preloaded Gemini apps. Press APPS on the Gemini Voice remote to access apps; a Google account is required to add apps through Google Play. An app icon does not include its paid subscription, and streaming apps need an internet connection. Device, service and account requirements apply.
See our Gemini equipment guide. For the separate Netflix leadership story, read what Peter Rice’s appointment means for sports and shows. To compare DIRECTV viewing options at your address, call 1-855-690-9884.
