JustWatch TV Explained: The New Free Streaming Service, Its Price and How It Compares With DIRECTV
JustWatch, the streaming guide that tells you where a movie or show is available, now streams titles itself. JustWatch TV offers a free ad-supported library, a $3.99-a-month ad-free Plus tier and movie rentals inside the JustWatch app and website.
Here's what JustWatch TV costs, what you can watch, which devices it works on and where it fits if you also have DIRECTV.
What is JustWatch TV?
JustWatch TV is a streaming service built into the JustWatch guide. You can still search for where a title is streaming on Netflix, Max or anywhere else, but now some titles play directly in JustWatch. The service sits inside the same JustWatch guide used to find legal subscription, free, rental and purchase options across other platforms.
Like other low-cost streamers, the library leans toward older movies, past-season TV and independent titles rather than new releases.

JustWatch TV vs. DIRECTV
They do different jobs. JustWatch TV is an on-demand library of mostly older titles. DIRECTV is live TV: local channels, sports networks, news and premium channels, with a DVR.
| JustWatch TV | DIRECTV | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free with ads; $3.99/mo ad-free | Paid packages; varies by package and address |
| Live channels | No | Yes, including locals, ESPN and regional sports where available |
| Live sports | No | Yes |
| New releases | Rentals only | Pay-per-view and on-demand rentals |
| DVR | No | Yes |
JustWatch TV makes sense as a free extra next to a live TV service, not as a replacement for one. DIRECTV customers also get free channels through MyFree DIRECTV. To see which DIRECTV package fits your address, call 1-855-690-9884.
