Yes, they are the same overall company. Windstream is the company name; Kinetic is the brand name for the internet service from Windstream. It’s the same company. Kinetic was also the brand name for a type of TV service from Windstream. Kinetic TV was migrated in 2022 to options for DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and YouTubeTV through Windstream. You can bundle TV, internet and phone with Windstream.

Kinetic internet plans include fiber and DSL service. Fiber internet runs on beams of light nested in fiber optic cables. DSL runs on phone lines. The faster of the two, by far, is fiber internet but it’s not available at all addresses in the Windstream service area.

Windstream offers internet service in parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas.

The gateway modem-router rental fee of $9.99/mo. and the optional but recommended security package fee of $14.99/mo. will be on top of your monthly plan rate.
