Ptera is an internet service provider founded in 2019. Its focus is on providing alternative broadband connectivity solutions for rural communities. With no high speed internet available in many of these areas, Ptera approaches the challenge with a combination of fixed wireless, satellite and fixed fiber products.
Ptera delivers speeds of up to 1 Gbps (gigabits per second) over its fixed wireless network and up to 250 Mbps (megabits per second) via satellite. Currently, Ptera’s service is available in parts of New York, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa.
Ptera is highly reliable, with low latency and no data caps. It includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and guest access feature, allowing customers to use their accounts to create a guest Wi-Fi network for visitors.
