OSHEAN (Ocean State Higher Education Economic Development and Administrative Network) is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) formed in 1997 by a consortium of higher education institutions and research entities in Rhode Island and is now the largest commercial ISP in Rhode Island. It connects over 400 state agencies, healthcare organizations, municipalities, schools, colleges and universities throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
OSHEAN’s services include internet service, cloud hosting, data center colocation, video streaming, voice and internet protocol television, cyber security, optical network transport and analytics. Through its OSPAN hybrid network, OSHEAN offers Layer 2 and Layer 3 Ethernet Private Line Two-Way and Point-to-Point services. With its synchronous multi-site circuit access, customers can access various network locations simultaneously.
OSHEAN focuses on reliability, increased redundancy, and high-speed service, maintaining a 99.9% uptime rate and a commitment to fast response times to its customers. It offers speeds up to 10 Gigabits, helping with customers’ internet demands.
