North Alabama Electric Cooperative, or NAEC, is a non-profit, member-owned electric cooperative providing electricity to rural parts of five counties in North Alabama. Established in 1941, NAEC was created to provide electricity to rural customers in North Alabama who otherwise would not have access to it.
NAEC provides competitive electricity service to over 11,500 members/customers in Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, and Marion counties in Alabama. They also offer advanced metering and energy efficiency programs.
In terms of service reliability, NAEC ranks highly with an impressive 99.965 percent reliability rate. NAEC offers speeds up to 100 Mbps and fiber-optic broadband networks in rural locations, allowing customers to access the internet regardless of location.
