Lakes Region Wireless is an internet service provider based in central Maine. It was founded by a passionate team of engineers and network technicians in 2005 in order to provide reliable, high-speed internet to its surrounding communities.
Lakes Region Wireless provides two different types of services: Fixed Wireless Internet and FTTP (Fiber to the Premise). Fixed Wireless Internet utilizes tower-to-tower microwave transmission technology to deliver internet access to fixed locations, while FTTP brings fiber optic cables directly to homes to deliver faster speeds and more consistent service.
The company currently services customers in a 70-mile radius around Portland, Maine. Their coverage area includes the towns of Auburn, Augusta, Freeport, Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Westbrook, and Windham.
