USA vs. Mexico: what to watch for
This is the 80th meeting in the rivalry, and the first since the 2026 World Cup. A few storylines:
- A new-look U.S. squad: Mauricio Pochettino, now signed through 2030, has given 12 players their international debuts this camp. The U.S. opened the window with a 4-1 win over Peru and a 4-2 win over Chile.
- Julian Hall's fast start: the young forward scored in both games, making him the youngest player ever to score in his first two USMNT caps.
- Mexico under Rafael Márquez: El Tri's former captain is now its head coach, and his first window brought 1-1 draws with Colombia and Peru.
- Arizona history: the U.S. is unbeaten in three meetings with Mexico in Arizona (one win, two draws), most recently a 1-1 draw in Glendale in April 2023. Mexico won the last meeting overall, the 2025 Gold Cup final, 2-1.
USA vs. Canada: what to watch for
- It's the first meeting between the World Cup co-hosts since Canada's 2-1 win in the Concacaf Nations League in March 2025.
- It's also the first time the two teams have played in Minnesota. The U.S. is 3-0 all-time at Allianz Field.
- Canada reached the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup before losing to Morocco.
