Current listings place The Rookie Season 9 on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on ABC. ABC’s fall announcement confirms that the returning series is part of its 2027 lineup, with original programming streaming the following day on Hulu. Find your ABC station
Search the DIRECTV guide for the exact series and season, then confirm that the result is the new ABC episode rather than an older rerun. Local affiliate availability depends on your service address and account. A national premiere listing does not establish that a particular station is included in every package.
Confirm time-zone handling in your local guide. An Eastern or Central promotional time should not be assumed to be the local clock time everywhere. Save the series as a recording where supported, and check the actual episode duration before relying on a manually timed recording.
Hulu is a separate viewing route
ABC says its original programming streams the next day on Hulu. That is different from watching the ABC broadcast live. Check the episode’s availability in your Hulu account, including any bundle entitlement, before paying for a second subscription.
A plan that provides an on-demand library does not necessarily include a live ABC stream. If watching on premiere night matters, verify the live channel and local rights in the service you intend to use.
Keep the returning series and spinoff separate
