What is The Endless Race about?
Filmmaker Jen Karson-Strauss thought her brother was in the clear after nearly four years of sobriety. When she learns he has relapsed, she turns to the thing she knows best and starts making a film. She follows people in recovery from addiction, along with their families, as they train for the New York City Marathon.
As race day gets closer, each runner's story shows what they are running toward and what they are still trying to make peace with. Those stories start to echo Jen's own, and the line between filmmaker and subject blurs as she faces how addiction has shaped her family. The film ends at the marathon's starting line.
Who made The Endless Race?
The film is produced by ESPN and directed and produced by Emmy-winning ESPN director Jen Karson-Strauss. Jeremy Williams is co-producer, Eric Neel and Rayna Banks are coordinating producers, and Chris Buckle is executive producer.
