What is Marshals?
Marshals stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Kayce joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals in Montana, combining cowboy and Navy SEAL skills with teammates Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means). Kayce’s circle still includes his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and Broken Rock confidantes Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham).
Season 1 premiered March 1, 2026, and became CBS’s No. 1 new series of the cycle. Taylor Sheridan is among the executive producers, with Spencer Hudnut as showrunner.
Season 2 premiere episode
In “All Hat No Cattle,” Kayce goes rogue when Tate is taken hostage, and the Marshals uncover a criminal operation tied to the East Camp land grab. The hour was written by Spencer Hudnut and directed by Christopher Chulack.
CBS shifted the premiere half an hour later than the usual 8 p.m. ET block (along with 60 Minutes and Tracker) because of Sunday NFL coverage. After that night, the lineup returns to 7 / 8 / 9 p.m. ET for those three shows.
