FuboTV recently released app version 5.6 for Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV. Roku users also saw an app release a few weeks later. Here’s what the company advises:

”We’re updating our TV, mobile, and web apps to enhance the Fubo streaming experience.

We recently released this updated experience to users on Android TV and Amazon Fire TV, and a small portion of Roku devices. We plan on releasing this update to additional devices and users in the coming weeks.

If you’re new to Fubo and have noticed that the app on your device doesn’t look the same as other in-app images you may have seen, it’s because you’ve installed our updated experience.

If you’re a current Fubo subscriber and noticed that your app looks different, it’s because you’ve received the updated experience as a part of regular app updates.

We’ll have additional information regarding the updated look and feel of Fubo and how it differs from the previous experience very soon! “

The updated app version 5.4 was subsequently pushed out to subscribers.

Recent Changes v5.5 and v 5.6

• Previous channel To get to the previous channel press the back button for more than a tap. That will take you back to the previous channel.

• Channel Guide You can be watching a channel, access a now-scrolling guide, and see a thumbnail of what you’re watching in the corner of your screen. To access the channel guide while watching a channel use the down button.

• Recordings A button to “Delete Recording” was added rather than hiding the delete option under the Recording Options menu.

• Video Playback Closed captioning subtitles on or off will persist as you change channels or programs. Playback-related app failures were resolved.

• Some channels were optimized to reduce buffering when reloading. A previous bug in channel changes was resolved.

The issues FuboTV seem to have in user threads online is that since 2020 FuboTV has not offered TNT, TBS, TruTV and CNN and it does not have AMC Networks channels including AMC, BBC America, IFC, We TV and Sundance. Giving the benefit of the doubt, no streaming platform has every channel in the world, but gets the best lineup it can obtain. Customers who are fans of channels not included, or dropped, make their unhappiness known. The FuboTV website does all of its channels but bizarrely imposes graphic overlays obscuring dozens of channel names and logos.
