Disney+ and Hulu Prices Are Going Up Again: New 2026 Prices and What It Means for DIRECTV Customers
Disney is raising prices on Disney+ and Hulu again. The increase, announced September 23, 2026, marks the fourth U.S. price hike in four years. Ad-free plans take the biggest jump, rising $2.50 to $21.49 per month, while ad-supported standalone plans rise 50 cents. One popular bundle is not changing at all.
Here are the new prices, when they take effect, and how DIRECTV customers who get Disney+ or Hulu through their plan may be able to sidestep the increase.

When the new prices take effect
- New subscribers: the new prices applied immediately on September 23, 2026.
- Existing Disney+ subscribers: the higher rate applies starting with a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026.
- Existing Hulu subscribers: the change arrives on an upcoming monthly bill. Check the price-change notice for your account to see your exact date.
- Billed through an app store or another company? Your timing and notice may come from that provider.
Why Disney keeps raising prices
Price hikes have become an annual event. Disney also raised Disney+ and Hulu prices in October 2023 and October 2024 in the U.S., and the ad-free Disney+ tier has nearly doubled from the $10.99 per month it cost before the fall 2023 increase. When Disney+ launched in November 2019, it cost $6.99 per month.
This round is clearly designed to push subscribers toward bundles. The ad-supported Disney+, Hulu Bundle stays at $12.99, just 50 cents more than either service alone. Disney has also been merging Hulu content into the Disney+ app.
What it means for DIRECTV customers
If you get Disney+ or Hulu as part of a DIRECTV plan, the streaming service is included in your DIRECTV package rather than billed by Disney. Disney's announcement covers its own plans, and DIRECTV has not announced any change to the streaming services included with its packages. Here is where Disney+ and Hulu show up on DIRECTV:

- Look for promo pricing: Disney has advertised limited-time bundle offers for eligible new subscribers that renew at regular rates.
