The CHOICE™ package, frequently selected by sports fans, rolls out at $74.99/mo. for the first 12 months—$10/mo. less than standard pricing.

The second year of your contract returns to the base rate, meaning you’ll see that bump starting in month 13. Still, the savings in year one combined with premium perks (more on that next) create an appealing value.

Ultimate folds in more depth—true crime, documentary, niche movie channels—while Premier eliminates the need for add-ons by bundling in all premium offerings.

Find yourself frustrated by occasional signal gaps in rural Temple? DIRECTV STREAM can launch local and national channels over your internet connection, bypassing any terrain-based limitations. The hybrid model ensures no one’s left out, even in patchy satellite areas around Bell County.

Getting Set Up: DIRECTV Installation and Equipment in Temple, TX

Satellite Equipment: What You’ll Need

For residents in Temple opting for DIRECTV’s satellite service, expect a professional-grade setup. The Genie HD DVR receiver is standard—this device allows you to record up to five shows at once, supports simultaneous viewing on multiple TVs, and stores up to 200 hours of HD content. Additional clients or mini receivers connect secondary TVs without needing a full DVR for each screen.

All hardware remains leased, and the monthly equipment fee starts at $15 per month for the primary Genie DVR. Each added TV connection costs around $7 per month, based on DIRECTV’s national pricing model.

Installation Timeline and Technician Availability in Temple

In Temple, new customers can generally schedule installation within two to five business days of placing an order. DIRECTV partners with certified local technicians, and weekend appointments are often available. The standard installation process takes roughly 2 to 4 hours, depending on home layout and the number of TVs connected.

During setup, the technician will mount the satellite dish, handle all coaxial cabling, connect the receivers, and ensure everything functions properly before leaving. Want to mount your Genie system to a wall or reroute cabling through the attic? Additional custom installation options are offered at extra cost.

DIRECTV STREAM: No Installation Required

DIRECTV STREAM skips the dish entirely. This streaming TV option works over your home internet and is installation-free. If you have a compatible smart TV—including select models from Samsung, LG, Sony, or those running Android TV—you’ll simply download the app.

Don’t have a smart TV? Use a streaming device like the DIRECTV STREAM Device, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, or Google Chromecast. Setup takes minutes, and the interface remains uniform across devices. Connect to Wi-Fi, sign in, and start watching.

DIRECTV charges a monthly fee starting at $5 per device if you're renting the DIRECTV STREAM Device, but using your own compatible hardware comes with no added monthly charge.

Thinking of Going Self-Install?

DIRECTV satellite installs always require a technician. But with DIRECTV STREAM, self-setup becomes the norm. Which one fits your lifestyle and tech setup better?

Combine and Save: Bundling DIRECTV with Internet and Phone in Temple, TX

DIRECTV Bundles Offered with Internet in Temple, TX

In Temple, DIRECTV doesn't deliver internet directly, but customers can still access high-speed internet through bundle partnerships. AT&T remains the primary provider, integrating its fiber or DSL internet with DIRECTV packages. In neighborhoods not served by AT&T, third-party ISPs—including Spectrum, CenturyLink, and T-Mobile Home Internet—offer compatible services that can be bundled via participating retailers.

Benefits of Bundling Your Services

• Combined Billing: One monthly bill covers TV, internet, and in some cases, phone service—simplifying your financial routine.
• Loyalty Discounts: Multi-service customers unlock exclusive monthly savings, which vary depending on the provider. AT&T, for example, cuts up to $20/month when services are bundled in select plans.
• Streamlined Customer Support: In bundled arrangements, customer service teams coordinate across services, reducing handoffs and wait times.

Internet Speeds and Bundle Pricing in Temple

AT&T Fiber in Temple offers symmetrical speeds starting at 300 Mbps. Higher tiers include 1 GIG and 5 GIG options where available. Prices begin at $55/month for fiber internet alone as of March 2025.

When bundled with DIRECTV, combined pricing for TV and internet typically starts from $129.99/month. That includes the ENTERTAINMENT package plus 300 Mbps fiber, assuming both services are available at the address. Some third-party providers may offer introductory rates $10 to $15 lower during the first 12 months of the agreement.

Looking for mobile integration too? Some bundle promotions through AT&T include unlimited wireless data discounts, further consolidating your services under one roof.

Is a Phone Line Still an Option?

Yes—but there’s a catch. Traditional copper home phone lines are being phased out across much of Texas. In 2025, AT&T Voice over IP (VoIP) is the go-to landline substitute when paired with an internet + TV bundle. It supports unlimited nationwide calls, and in some plans, unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada.

DIRECTV itself doesn't offer a branded phone product, so any phone service in a bundle will be provisioned through your internet provider—typically AT&T or another VoIP-capable ISP.

Ready to combine services for a smoother experience in Temple? Start by checking your address for fiber availability. That determines the bundle speed and pricing options you’ll see.
