The Cleveland Cavaliers and DAZN have reportedly reached an agreement to put Cavs games on DIRECTV this season. Locked On Cavs reporter Danny Cunningham posted on Saturday, October 24, 2026 that the deal started with that night's home opener against the Brooklyn Nets, on DIRECTV channel 660.

As of October 25, 2026, this is a report, not an official announcement. The Cavaliers, DAZN and DIRECTV haven't confirmed the deal publicly. Cunningham said a formal announcement is expected next week. Until then, there's no official word on which DIRECTV packages include the games, whether satellite and streaming customers both get them, or whether there's an extra charge.

Why Cavs games moved in the first place

After FanDuel Sports Network shut down, the Cavaliers signed a multi-year deal in September 2026 to put their local broadcasts on DAZN. The games are produced in-house by Rock Entertainment Sports Network. The switch drew heavy fan criticism over cost and access. The 92.3 The Fan host Ken Carman called it "bad for the fanbase" on October 22, 2026.

The reported DIRECTV deal came two days later. That timing doesn't prove the backlash caused it, but it gives local fans a way to watch on a TV service many already have.

What the Cavs DAZN package costs

Monthly Pass Ultimate$24.99/mo.5 at two locations

The DAZN package leaves out games picked for exclusive national broadcasts. The Cavs and DAZN also promised 15 games free to watch this season.

National Cavs games on DIRECTV

National games never depended on this deal. When the Cavs play on ESPN or ABC, you can watch on DIRECTV with an eligible package, and ESPN is channel 206. Games on Peacock (Nov. 2 vs. Oklahoma City) and Prime Video (Nov. 6 vs. Philadelphia) need those streaming services.
