Yes, most likely. Starlink internet currently advertises speeds between 100 and 200Mbps with latency as low as 20ms, although that speed is not guaranteed.

Starlink internet may one day be available at 10Gbps

SpaceX had been planning to have Starlink internet reach speeds as high as 1Gbps, but it seems that their goal is even higher now. In a presentation to the FCC, SpaceX revealed plans to have Starlink internet capable of operating at 10Gbps with a latency of below 30ms to most users. This ambitious goal would make Starlink internet one of the fastest options available, and huge competition to ground based internet service providers.

When can we expect faster speeds?

There is no expected date for Starlink internet to reach 1Gbps, or 10Gbps. SpaceX will have to launch more satellites into orbit to even confirm that those speeds will be possible. Launching satellites safely requires careful planning as well as cooperation from the weather and permission from government agencies. This makes it very difficult to predict how long it will take to get all the satellites into orbit. Since the new “Gen2 system” plans to include a total of 30,000 satellites, and Gen1 has so far put up about 2000, it is very uncertain when, or if Starlink will be able to deliver.
