Capitalization
Your search queries are not case sensitive. All letters, regardless of
how you type them, are standardized for lower case. For example, "Rio
MP3 Player," "rio mp3 player" and "RIO MP3 PLAYER" will return the same
results.
The search engine will find both upper and lower case instances of your
search term.
Search for phrases by entering the words separated by spaces.
Example: mp3 player
For best results use singular descriptions. For example, "MP3 player"
rather than "MP3 players". While our search will strip the "s" off the
end of plural words to find more results, doing so manually will return
your results faster.
Choosing Keywords
For best results, it's important to choose your keywords wisely. Keep
these tips in mind:
Try the obvious first. If you're looking for a receiver, enter "receiver"
rather than "stereo."
* Use specific keywords. "Sony DVD Player" gets more relevant results
than "DVD Player."
Search Relevance
By default, we display a list of pages that include all of your
keywords by relevance. For Example if you enter "Sony DVD Player" our
search returns all examples of that exact search with ALL words and then
starts to return close matches with two of the three words and then finally
any example of any of the words. Typically the first few pages of results
will be the closest match to your query.
There is no need to include "and" between terms.
Search by Category
You can also use our convenient category search above to search
within a specific category to limit the number of irrelevant results.
Broadening Your Search
You may also choose to be LESS specific if you are not finding what you
are looking for. For example entering "Projection TV" rather than "Mitsubishi
Projection TV" or "HDTV" rather than "Toshiba Widescreen HDTV". In some
instances checking your spelling can eliminate dead end searches as well.
Details of Results
More Detail: You can click on the name of the product (or the associated
picture) to see more product photos, details, and description. In the
case of many accessories you will not be able to click for more detail
as these products are to numerous to photograph and often the detail shown
in the listing page is sufficient.
Total Number of Results
At the top and bottm of your results page, we show you how many items
were found relevant to your keywords.
Changing the Number of Results Shown
By default, we show you 10 results per page. You can change this by using
changing the search results box to display the first 20 results. If you
feel the total results returned still do not contain what you are looking
for try broadening your search.
Paging Through Your Results
If your search terms result in more than 10 items, you can page
through them by using the page controls at the top and bottom of your
results page.
