Do you have to pay upfront for Viasat?

Upfront fees are pretty small with Viasat. There are two possible upfront fees you may face, but one can get waived and the other is based on your choice. The first fee is an installation fee, and it comes in at $99.99. That’s pretty small for all that it covers. For $99.99 a professional technician comes to your house (wherever you live, no matter how remote) and installs all the equipment for you. The technician will then set up your home Wi-Fi network so you can begin using the internet immediately. With all that’s involved with setting up, syncing, and optimizing a satellite dish connection, that’s a good price. And even then, it’s possible to get the installation fee waived in some areas if you pass a simple credit check.

The second fee is your choice. That’s the equipment lifetime lease fee. Many people will opt to rent the equipment for $9.99 per month with no upfront cost. If you don’t have the finances available, that is a good choice. But you can also choose to pay a one-time upfront cost to lease the equipment for as long as you need it. This fee is $299.99. This is a lot to pay upfront, but it can save you in the long run if you plan on using Viasat for at least two and a half years.
